Welcome to BrokenOS!

This operating system has been sneakily infected with some serious malware and all of the sensitive information on it risks being stolen. Use the tools at your disposal to navigate the file system, using your scanner to find infected items and use the reverse engineering tool to stop it!

Locate the key allowing you to decrypt the virus and then stop it once and for all. Make sure to be quick, as the longer the system is compromised the more the data is destroyed!

Available Tools:

  • Scanner: Notifies the player of potential malware up to one folder deep.
  • Container: Stops a specific malware for a brief moment.
  • Reverse Engineering: Attempt to eradicate the virus by entering a maze minigame.
  • Goal: Navigate the maze to find the **Key**. Once obtained, reach the **Exit** to delete the virus.

Desktop (System) Controls

  • Navigate Desktop: Mouse
  • Select Item: Left-Click (Single)
  • Execute Item: Left-Click (Double)
  • Context Menu: Right-Click

Minigame (Reverse Engineering) Controls

  • Move: `WASD` or `Arrow Keys`

Known Issues

  • After the reverse engineering phase (the maze is completed), the icon of the remediated file stays in the task manager - clicking on this crashes the game
